Ingredients:
1/2 cup Peanuts, roasted and de-skinned
1 Tbsp Chana Dal, dry roasted till it changes colour
Curry Leaves: 8-10
Dry Red Chillies: 5-6 (depending on the level of spice you desire)
Garlic: 4 medium sized pods, peeled
Tamarind: a 2 inch piece
Salt, to taste
1 Tsp Oil
Method:
In a nonstick pan heat the oil
Add the curry leaves, tamarind, garlic and chillies and sauté till the garlic starts losing it's rawness/starts changing colour
Switch off flame and set aside to cool
In a mixie add the sautéed ingredients along with the peanuts, chana dal and salt to taste and grind to your desired consistency
Use as an accompaniment to Idli/Dosa/Uttapams
Enjoy with rice, adding ghee to enhance the flavour.
Store in an airtight container.
Refrigerate if you live in an area of high humidity
